I have a question. I have a 1995 Polaris sportsman 400 4x4. It sat for a long period of time and gummed up the carb. The friend working on it says the carb needs replacing but they are extremely hard to find and expensive. The local dealer advised eBay carbs were hit or miss, more miss than hit. My question is can the carb be rebuilt has anyone done this or know of someone who has that can help me? Thanks

 

why does it need to be replaced just because it needs to be cleaned? they do make rebuild kits for them.
