Just did a range check on my 01 and only got 61
miles on a tank of gas!!!I'm not a happy camper
since the 00 model gets me in the 100 mile range.
What are you guys (and gals) getting?

 

What kind of riding were you doing when you did you test.

 

yeha I was going to say my 2000 gets 80-100 on a tank easily. maybe the bigger carb more power? you would think more power would move it easier and use less gas?

 

Mine will go 80 miles and then reserve. Lighten up on the throttle eh.

 

95 miles of 50+ mph road. all road riding. still have 1/4 of a tank.

 

I traded my '98 SP 500 for a '01 SP 500 HO about ten days ago. My '98 would get between 100 and 110 miles before reserve. The first tank on my '01 was not right up to the neck, but close, and it took me 87 miles before reserve. That should get better after break in.
