I have worked with a couple of these meerkat and really like the way they are built. But this one is giving me grief.

Guy I bought it from said it was simple electric. Haha. Replaced electric.... and carburetor.
Went to adjust valves and found the intake had no retainer nut... uhhhh. Replaced adjusted, but when it starts, full choke only .. it will Peter out no matter what I do.

Figured it was bad valve.. compression test hit 155pounds quick.

Top Dead Center is a trick.. it has 3 lollipops then horizontal dashes leading to a Y. Help.

Any ideas.

 

You can never guarantee that a new Chinese replacement is set right. I would start by cleaning the old carb out and re-fitting it.
