i put a durablue axle in my shee over the winter and new bearings and seals and i been raceing it lately and i have been haveing a problem with the locking nut comeing loose all the time and i put it in the way it said too and i have even wrapped duct tape around it to try and keep it from comeing loose have any of u had any problems with it comeing loose and if u did what did u do to correct the problem ?

 

Is this the stock locing nut on the Durablue axle? The title of your post says posi-locking nut and if the nut has the allen bolt to "pinch" it to the axle it should not be coming loose. If it is the stock axle nut then nothing I have found will keep it from loosening other than replacing it with the locking kind. This is a common problem on all sport quads whether it is Honda or Yamaha.

 

The durablue posi-locknut on my 400ex came loose after the first time I rode on it. Then I cranked down the pinch bolt as far as it would go and put a small amount of red locktite on the threads. It hasn't came loose again. Also, I have a friend with a Banshee. He had the exact same expierence as I did. The same worked for him

 

it is not the stock nut because it will not work on the durablue axle it is the nut that comes with the axle and i have turned the allen screw out all the way and i put locktight on it too and it is still comeing loose for soem reason it only comes loose just a hair just enough to make the chain sprocket hub wiggle just a little

 

I also had this problem with my durablue. So I lock wired the nut to the sprocket hub. It hasn't moved since!

 

Degrease everything and put some RED Loctite on the threads and let it sit for a day or 2.

I read the instructions for mine and i dont understand how your supposed to tighten the damn thing up. Can someone clarify please? I just bought a eliminator axle and want to make sure the nut is properly tightened.
