Thats correct. You read that right. I started my 04 Polaris sportsman 500 tonight just to move it from one side of the garage to the other. Went to shut it off and it stayed running. Tried shorting the cdi to ground didn't work. Tried pulling the kill switch wire and grounding it didn't work. I even unhooked the battery positive and negative and it stayed running. Finally ended up pulling the plug wire to kill it. Any idea what would cause such a issue. I've heard possibly the reverse override could be the problem. I'm starting to think that it's possessed.

 

I don’t really know how to fix that. So I’d say just use the fuel shut off for now.
