2003 honda foreman 450 rearend problems
#2
The ratios are the same, as is the crownwheel, at least on the 2007 500 I checked for part numbers, but pinion is a different part number, don't know why. You never know until you try it but the whole rear end may be a straight swap. However a new crown wheel and pinion for a 2003 450 is about $350, so is it worth messing about? Earlier 450s are different, and crown wheel and pinions for them are no longer available, though the whole case assembly is, and at $427 a reasonable price, later case assemblies are treble that.

I just bought a 1998 Honda Foreman 450 this past weekend. It has the front and rear disk brake conversion and runs great....BUT! this issue just happened (or it was already an issue and I didn't realize it when buying it) either way, this video is going to help a lot. Seems like a great machine otherwise.
