Does anyone know of a good aftermarket tie rod end for a 00 trailboss. My buddy has one that both are bad already. The polaris dealer here said the stock ones in 00 were junk.

Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks

i have a 200 Sportsman with 1950 miles on it . and the original tie rod ends. How do you know if they are gone? also does it really hurt the performace of the ATV? or is it just a loose feeling in the steering? I do not know a single person that I ride with who has replaced tie rods ends. Is the only benefit of replacing them tighter steering?

I have a 98 Xplorer with only 600 miles on it and one of the tie rod ends is shot. You can grab the tire and move it and feel the play in the tie rod. My ends have a grease zerk on it I have heard that the ones without the zerk are better. I,m not sure about this someone else will be able to tell you.

With bad tie rod ends you get play in the handle bars. My friends trailboss has about 3/4" play in the bars. The only performance you lose is handling, which at times can hurt pretty bad.

I would see if the new-style heim-type tie rod ends from the 01 machines would fit. They are much better than the older style, and may be a simple bolt-on repair if they fit.

After going through 3 sets of "old style" rod ends, I put the updated versions on my Sport. They have been abused for well over a year, and are fine.

A local tech made mention of EPI tie rod ends.
Has anyone heard of, or used the product?

I just purchased them last week from EPI for my 2000 xplor 400 4x4.My friend has the 2001 xplor and his tie rods'look like their alot tuffer than the 2000. The ones I ordered were on back order and are the same style as the 2001. I can let you know when I replace them along with my cv boots. This will be a first time experience replacing both.
