Default 2004 Honda Recon ES Rolling in Reverse

I've rebuilt a 2004 Honda recon ES. New clutch plates (soaked in oil prior to install), new adjuster etc. When I put it in reverse it moves without giving it throttle. It also won't shift back to neutral without cutting the engine. Runs and shifts great in the forward gears. It's not idling high either. Reverse sensor is connected. Can't figure out what is causing this issue. Thanks for any help in advance!

The drive doesn't engage in forward or reverse until the centrifugal clutch spins fast enough, it shouldn't make any difference if it is in forward or reverse, as this clutch is before the main clutch or gearbox. Are you certain it doesn't also move once 1st is engaged from neutral?

Merryman, you are right. Noticed it creeping in first gear as well. I have the idle down as far as it can go without killing the motor. The clutch pack is brand new. You think it's stuck? Or could it be something with the one way bearing? I replaced that as well. I'm at a loss on this one.

Default You are right Merryman

Noticed it creeping in first gear. I have the idle down as much as possible. It has a new clutch pack and one way bearing. Also using Honda 10W-40. I'm at a loss on this one.

There are two separate clutches. The multiplate and the centrifugal. For some reason your centrifugal clutch is dragging. Reasons can be, a shoe spring broken, allowing a shoe to fly out as soon as the engine starts, or the one way clutch in backwards, or the clutch not assembled properly. On the 250 this clutch also doubles as the oil filter. When you strip it, all the gunge that has filtered out by centrifugal force, should be trapped round the rim of that tin cover, which you remove before you can get at the centrifugal clutch centre nut.
