Default 2006 Brute Force loud topend noises

I have a 2006 Brute Force 750 and i've been noticing a continuous ticking coming from the rear cylinder head? Bike runs decent but it starts hard sometimes when its sat for a while or when its warm. I have had to use the pullstart a few times to get it to fire up, and doing so it’s backfired, still runs but I havent been driving it. Anyways the sound is almost metallic or something and it seems to match with my RPM. Ive been told Camshaft, Timing chains, and all that jazz but I would like some insight from some of you that are experienced with Kawi. Thanks. Video attached.

Check valve lash. Pretty easy job. Might show a bad cam lobe or something else before diving into the timing chain.
