It's looking like the strain of tariffs has Yamaha packing up and heading east:

Not sure how much different the tariffs will be since they're still in the USA. I'm pretty sure the tax rates are much better in Georgia than California.

We agree- the way the press release is worded, financial strain due to tariffs is blamed but, like you concluded, the implication there must be that Georgia offers lower operating costs to offset some of that. Also, they are consolidating scattered department in the process to save capital as well. Nobody is immune to these tough economic conditions, not even the big corporations it seems.
