I am thinking about buying a cr 125. I am 13 years old have ridden quads for a few months and I wanna know if it will be too much power for me. Also how will it face up against a 300ex. We both have the same riding experiance. and we are both about the same size. thanks

The power of the 300EX isn't even in the same ballpark as the CR125. If you've only been riding for a couple of months you probably aren't ready for a 125cc MX bike. They are tall and they are fast. Stick with the 300EX for a while or if you're looking at getting into dirt bikes you might want to start by picking up a used CR, KX, or RM80 and working your way up. On a dirt bike a relatively inexperienced rider can get in over his head in a hurry.

A 300EX doesn't even compare. I raced my CR against my 250X and the X had the CR for about the first 10 feet. After that it's like the quad was standing still that's how bad the bike beat it! If your new to riding get the quad, you'll be a lot happier. Those 125's take a lot of work to keep them in the powerband and they can be a handful at times where as a quad is better.

The 300ex vs a KTM 60 is more of a fair game. A CR80 will smoke a 300ex. One reason is they are 2-stoke and pumping out more HP. The other reason is it is lighter. You might be thinking "well the blaster is 2-stoke why don't it smoke a 300ex". And just for your information, every stock blaster vs 300ex, the 300ex barely pulled the victory. Well the main reason is it is 150-200 pounds heavier than a dirtbike. And if your wondering, a KTM 60 will probably outrun a 300ex. Just from what I saw at the local motoX track this past weekend.

I don't know about the CR, but my kid has a YZ125. He beats me off the line every time and gets about 3 bike lengths on me. After that, on the 300 I can keep up with him. I can't catch him, but he can't lose me either. We can ride all day with 3 bike lengths between us.

What in the world is going on? You guys are comparing apples to oranges. The 125 will woop the 300 any day and everyday! Remember the 2-stroke and 4-stroke difference? The 125 is designed for short runs, where the 300 (and most other quads for that matter) are not designed with that in mind. Take a 100 yard run and watch what happens, the 125 kills. But to keep the 125 at sprint, you'll blow it up. My bro races a 250 now, but when he had his 125, he killed me in a drag. Granted, I ride a 300 and am not extremely knowledgable about quads, but something like this........come on!

I was 14 just got my rm 80 and only rode for about a week.Thats when my brother got a cr-125 he had a pro-circuit pipe and silencer, power reads and was rejetted. He let me take it out one day and I was able to ride it, but it was hard to keep the front end down.I only had like a weeks riding expeirence and was able to ride it.

i ofton see you making posts comparing this to that... if you must know the 300 will lose. my brothers piped 400EX is even in a drag race with a full pipe re jetted and bored .20 over kx125.

when i rode the KX i didnt like how i had to hold it in mid to upper rmps all the time... with a 4 stroke quad u got all your power under controll verry easily and quickly, its alot more comfortable

my opinion at least
