I noticed that the lower control arm (I guess thats what you call it, or maybe "A-FRAME") is bent. I have two questions.

1. It looks like I can do the work myself. Is it more involved than it looks?

2. Is there any were besides polaris to buy it?

thanks

It is pretty straight forward. You should be able to replace the parts yourself. I would reccomend going to the polaris website and looking at the parts manual for your machine. This will give you an idea what to expect. the A frame as you called it has a rod inside it that could also be bent depending on where you bent the frame. Dissasemble everything and see what is bent and get the polaris parts. It will probably be cheaper than you think. If you need it I can send you the link to the parts manual.

I bought the a-arm kit from my Polaris dealer for $60. The kit comes with everything you will need, including new bushings, grease fitting and hardware. The inner rod you must purchase seperate for about $9. It took about 20 minute to replace, very easy to do.
Look closely at that inner rod. Just about anytime you bend the a-arm, that rod will bend too. If the rod is bent even a tiny amount, it will cause extra wear on the a-arm bushings.

You can buy aftermarket a-arms for some Polaris machines, but they are very expensive. I don't think they make them for the SP500 though. Unless are very hard on your machine, you are better off with the stock arms and adding a good set or a-arm guards instead.

Thanks guys,

I got the part at a local dealer this afternoon ($60.00 and they gave me a swing arm rod). It took me all of 20 miniuts to change and re grease the quad.
