Last weekend at a drag race there was a Cannondale, and it sounded terrible to say the least. A lot of motor noise and it wouldn,t stay running. It seemed pretty quick when the guy could get off the line. He tried racing in my class and was out the first two runs. Just wondering if it was normally that loud or if there was something wrong with this one. Thought of a good comparison Polaris Deisel NO JOKE.

The camshafts are gear driven. You are probably hearing gear drive noise. Don't know that I'd compare it to a diesel, unless there was something else wrong with it that you were hearing.

The one I rode had no trouble staying running & was pretty powerful.... Wonder if he's been screwing with the FI & had it hosed up...

One came in to a local dealer, and for a huge suprise they actually let me test drive it, it is pretty loud, but the power was pretty awesome, maybe i am too used to 4x4 atvs, but it was cool to be in 3rd gear and just jab the throttle for a wheelie, it was pretty fun

I myself think that it sounds like a air compressor building up when it's just sitting there idling. haha
