I found a good deal (at least I think it's a good deal) on a very slightly used 2000 DS650. They are asking $4499 which worked out to about $4850 out the door. They claim it only has 12 hours on it and I kinda believe them since the plastic, tires and hand grips are all in excellent shape and the steering is perfectly tight. I actually would have believed them if they had said that it was new but they used it as a demo or something. I got to ride it around a bit and it seems to run perfect, it's fully stock all the way around. My question is since it has no warranty on it, what do you think the likelyhood of it grenading on me or having any substantial problems is? I'm not saying Bombs are POS's I'm just a little leery since my Raptor is in the shop still after 3 weeks getting three gears replaced at substantial cost, it's a good thing it's under warranty. Are the '01 DS's that much better than the '00's? Is everything in the carboration and engine identical? How about shocks etc.? I'm pretty sure this is a great deal but would like some feedback from you guys that own them.

Also the guy I was talking to mentioned something about a customer or someone that they know (he was very vague) that has a BMW computer interface or part that makes the DS substantially quicker. Have you heard of anything like this?

There are some minor differences between the 2000 and the 2001, the DS is strong as they get thats why they weigh more, more steel, the 650 rotax has a long and excellent record in the DS, the BMW F650, a dual sport bike by Aprilia and English road racing bikes, (did I miss any?).
No computer in a DS so the interface story is BS, possibley they are talking about the BMW cdi unit but that by itself will not make the quad substanially faster. the DS responds very well to basic and advanced mods, check with Ron Woods or Team-Pani

Very well said, but you did miss one bike, The Bimota[a hand made Italian road racing bike].

Team Pami [not Pani] carries a wide range of performance parts for the Rotax motor currently living in the DS-650. Everything from ignition boxes that raise or eliminate the rev limiter to close ratio transmisions and 760CC motor kits.

If anyone is intrested in seeing what Team Pami has to offer, check out there web site at www.team-pami.de. If you have any questions or would like to order anything, feel free to e-mail me at knutzconcepts@msn.com.

GPDS650 thanks for the offer, couple of quick questions for you. What shape is your DS in, about how many hours do you have on it. and what mods have you done to it? I'm also wondering why you are selling it?
Thanks
