I just bought a 250R that i'm restoring and i have to have the motor completely rebuilt. I was wondering what are some good motor combos for the R such as pipe, filter, jet kit, rad valve.....etc. Except that i dont' want to have to bore or port. I was thinking about an LRD Adjustable Pipe, K and N or Uni Filter, Jet Kit to rejet, and a Boyeson Rad Valve. Does that sound good to yall or is there something better that will give me better overall power. Also, should i consider changin gearing? I mainly ride in the woods, with some hills, and i do a lot of open straight so i still want to be able to go fast. Any help would be appreciated.

get it ported first. youll get more power versus those other things that you can get later. if you get all those things you are going to need porting anyways. When you get it ported some pluses are youll get the exhuast port fixed so it wont catch your ring as easy and break it when it starts wearing. another thing run only top ring

I really don't want to port my R right now, i want to keep it at bolt ons only. If i had to, how much would a good port job cost?

How good is the Race Logic do it your self porting? Would doing the porting myself be a cheaper than having someone do it?

The Race Logic porting is good, and you can't screw it up it is pretty easy to do. But you are only porting the intake and exhaust ports. A guy off of *********.com chat rooms will port you cylinder for $150 plus shiping I believe I will find out exactly and let you know. He does really good work! I highly recomend him!

What do you mean the Race logic only ports the intake and exhaust ports? I thought that is all you port when you get a port job? What else is there to port, and can i do it myself?
