Today I took my stator cover to school and polished it.It looks real good.I was wondering what kind of polish.(mother's,etc)was best for keeping it shiny.

Thanks

To keep the shine on the aluminum parts on my motorcycle I had good results with Mother's Mag Wheel Polish and with a Semichrome metal polish.

I polished the ENTIRE engine on my TRX 250R--definately something I wouldn't like to do again!!I use Mother's to polish it and every now and then I'll wet sand it with 1500 grit then polish with Mother's.

It wasn't to bad.I used 520 wet/dry sandpaper and sand it down a little then polish.THen sand and polish and just kept doing that.It took about 4 hours to get the whole thing nice and shiny.I couldn't quite get it to a mirror because it has lots of larger scratches to.

I didn't know it but we have a polishing wheel for our bench grinder at home.and like 5 bars of compound.I am going to do my cylinder, water pump cover, thumb throttle cover, brake res cover.

And when I get a pro design cool head it should look pretty sweet.I will try to find someone that can make the cases look new again.Well only one I have to buy the shifter side because it is leaking oil a little bit.
