Power-wise, the Suzi has the edge.
Handling-wise, the 250R has the edge.
Both are great machines, but I would chose the 250R over the LT250.

I have never had the change to ride a 250R however I used to own on '85 Quadracer, which is virtually the same as an '86. Except for reeds the machine was bone stock and in 5th gear I would just creep by my friends piped and geared (1 tooth bigger front sprocket) 300EX. Unless you can't help it...stay away from the '85-'86 Quadracers they are junk.

No offense brother, but you are either in another dimension or there was something drastically wrong with your Qracer.I have ridden a stock 85 and it ripped.I just don't have enough time on the LT to honestly compare it to the R.Anyone with expierience with both machines I'd appreciate any input you have.

A buddy of mine had an 86LT that was bone stock with the exception of an FMF pipe and silencer. It kept up with my stightly modified 87 TRX(with 86 engine)if not beat it at top speeds. It wasn't a bad quad, but it definatly wasn't an R!

Hey man, I didn't say it was slower than the EX I said it was only a little faster. With the Ex's pipe and different gearing it beats stock Warrior's so it's not that slow. But if you think the Lt250 is cool you go ahead and buy one but don't say I didn't warn ya!

Thanks for your input CP, but there is NO WAY a 300EX is anywhere close to an LT, like I said I have ridden the LT before and it is needless to say, ridiculous amounts faster than a 300EX, I just am not able to compare it to the 250R.Even the old 1981 air cooled ATC 250R is way faster than a 300EX.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you, and LT250 is much faster than a 300ex, it is not even close. Either the 300 was WAY modded, or the LT had something wrong.

hey that LT that could barely beat that 300EX must have been really messed up! my 85 will blow away my friends modded 400EX! start to finish. its no problem. compare an 86 250r to an 86 LT and their closesly matched with the LT being slightly faster and better ergos and the honda handles better.
