I see that Rocky Mountain ATV is selling these on their webstite for around $70. I was thinking of getting one for my 400ex. I have seen a few people mention that they have them and I would like to here some opinions on these:
Are they easy to install? How accurate are they?Do they look like they will hold up well?

Thanks for any help or opinions.

I have one that I'd let go for $50 if anyone wants it. I just tested it for trail tech so that they'd be able to develope a correct cable for the Raptor. I also have the pick-up cable for the 400ex.

I can't say how well they work, I never left it hooked up, just checked it for corret fit and in exchange, I got to keep it.

The riders over at http://www.exriders.com/ are raving about em..

I have been thinking about getting one myself. Been all over the net and have seen all good responses from quad and bike riders. Also, seen many a post about how good Trail Tech's service is.. I should be ordering mine in a week or so...

I've owned my Trail Tech speedo for about a month now and have had no problems with it. It works great!! Installation is easy. The only difficult part is figuring out the programming instructions, but once you've figured them out its easy. I tested my speedo out against my buddies honda 650 and they are exactly the same readings.

I got a trail tech for christmas and it is not calibrated right. we did the measurement like it said and according to my step moms rancher es it is like 1.5 mph under at slow speeds and my 400ex only toped out at 57 with it on the street. I was wondering what number you all used i dont remember off the top of my head did anyone use the number recomended in the book.

I have one. I don't like it. It's too hard to read when your riding. I liked having the hour meter on it and that's about it. Just buy yourself a Tach with an hour meter or just an hour meter. If you want you can buy mine. It is easy to install, pain in the @$$ to program. I'll hook ya up with mine for $55 i paid 85 or something like that for it. Lemme know if you want it.

Boy, I love mine! Piece of cake to program! Did you lose the instructions? I especially like to know the distance I've travelled so that I know when to turn around on those long trail rides!

Well I programed it according to the site the default number for 21 inch front tires. i ran with the rancher and i was still exactly 1 mph slower but it was definantly closer I might try working with the math or remeasure so I can get a more accurate reading. I like mine alot it is definantly a nice item it would be great if it ran off the battery and stayed backlight like the stock rancher speedometer. but oh well.
