I got my latest issue of 4 wheel atv action today. In there is a photo of what looks like the tank of a quad, the plastic is green and it says Kawasaki. below the name it says Twin 500. and the caption is: "Part of the fun of quads is hearing about the next most-excitiing machine. Kawasaki's shrieking 500 twin is our next dream date"!!! isn't that cool? Yes the sticker looks very professional! You can just barely see some fins of the engine not much else besides part of the fender. Anyone else got this issue? Honda!!! Where are you!!?!!??

o i forgot to mention that this is NOT a utility! At least the photo rules out any possibility, and why would kawi come out with a 500 and a 650? It is a 500 twin cylinder sport quad!! i am excited! even though i am a honda guy, i may have to switch. if it proves to be good!

Not this Year!!! The picture was of a R&D Mojave 500c.c. Ninja they did in a test a few months ago It is a sad day to think that after 3+years of GNCC racing that all we got was the High Performance Lime Green Plastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )I think that the magazines are just trying to embarass Kawasaki into building such a machine. The "next" sport quad was rumored in the mid 90's when the Mojave was rumored to be on the indangered species list Here we are 5 years later, talking about the same ol thing! And now after the much anticipated release of the V-Twin Prairie, They wouldn't dare step on their own feet and ruin their momentumnI hate to say it, but it's true Until then WE can only hope and dream of such a machine

no offense but i hope you are wrong about the R&D thing. have you seen the picture?? it doesn't look like much of a R&D bike. Looks like a production quality sticker. haha a lot of proof i have!
i guess not a lot of people on this forum care?

I hope I'm wrong too, but Dirtwheels did a test on the "500 Ninja Mojave" in their December 2000 issue. Four stroke tech did the work to bring the thing to life. Mickey Dunlop went on to say "they told me that this quad was being built just as a fun duner for a couple of the Kawasaki employees" and he also said it would take roughly 3 years to bring such a thing to production. I guess only time will tell, I also heard on one of these forums that there's supposed to be a fully automatic sport coming out with the 650 v-twin powerplant, but who knows! I just don't think they are gonna release anything else new for 02' because they want the Prairie to win all the awards and get all the press. I can't for the life of me believe that it will be much longer though.

I really wish Kawasaki would get off their **** and build a new sport bike that can compete. The mojave is just not what most sport riders are looking for, and it gets spanked by everything in the shootouts. I would love a new sport machine from Kawi that could compete with Yamaha, Honda, the Bomb, and Cannondale. We already know Suzuki is going to release the drz powered quad so when will Kawasaki answer? I really wish they would put out the kxf 250 2 stroke cuz then they would really make a splash. Anyone know somebody in kawasaki's r&d department that we can harass with emails?
