If I remember right, they actually got the best performance from adding a K&N filter, jet kit, and removing the air box lid. They made it sound like an aftermarket pipe was a pure waste of money.

If you want another source of information, go to GT Thunder's website. They have several dyno charts for the 400EX, showing the hp and torque outputs after each change, so the comparisons are more meaningful. They don't recommend any particular mod or combination of mods, they just show you on paper, what each one does, and let YOU decide what's best for you.
They will also make you a custom pipe, tuned to your tastes, and your bike, but that's another story.

there was no test in dirtwheels that i know of for a 400ex pipe shootout. i have the ATVsport mag with the 14 pipes for your 400ex test. The supertrapp and white bros e-series come in the best. The big gun and dg i think are the worst. You loose power with the big gun and it is heavier then stock. But they really dont give results, its just which ever pipe is good enough for you. The prices vary which is what i would keep in mind

YES there was a shootout in Dirtwheels, and YES the WB won. The power was close to the Pro Circut, but it was too loud. THe Curtis Sparks Exhaust is just a modded Supertrapp. Anyone can do that to a Supertrapp exhaust. You'll lose the spark arrestor and your hearing though....
