Hey guess what??? A couple of weeks ago I was at the local riding area and I noticed a guy on a Yamaha Warrior that looked like it had been used quite a bit and had not been washed in a couple of months. It had a custom basket in the back that had food, water and some other necessities. The driver was just sitting a top the main hill and just watching around for miles I guess he was looking for cops since the cops come out frequently since we are not supposed to be there. I saw him take off and he yelled at me that the cops showed up. He took off so I just stayed quiet at the top so maybe the cops would not see me or they won't be mad when they caught me. They didn't catch me and I drove to another riding area for a while. When I came back there were about 20 cops and some FBI investigators there. I was curious so I hopped off my Recon and asked a few questions only to have a few questions asked at me. They showed me a picture of a man that I reconized as the man on the Warrior only he was clean in the picture. They took me to the police station so I could give them a written report on the quad and the man. They had recieved a tip a while back that he was staying in the wilderness out here and I guess someone else recognized him before the cops and told them he was there so that is why the cops were there. I forgot his name but it was like Hunter but I remembered his seeing a picture of him on the news a while back when he killed his entire family. I wished I would have recognized him so I could have slowed him down so the police could catch him. So far what happened here has not been in the news and I was instructed by the police not to tell anyone local what happend but I was just to bored and I had to write something. So far just me and a few other local civilians know what happened but I don't think (or at least I hope) I won't be seeing to much of him no more.

ya know... its just sad that people go out and steal other people's stuff... how low could you go? someone worked hard-(well some people)-to earn that and someone just comes and rips it off... now isnt that just nice? we should go back to cutting hands off for stealing.. maybe less people would be willing to risk stealing something

I don't think I would want to try and play hero with someone like that. He's probably not all there. That would be a matter for the police and FBI to take care of, they are trained for that. They know the general area he is in, and they'll probably get him dead or alive. Its better than going and getting killed trying to catch him yourself.

I would be checking into some reward money though. You did give them information on his location, if they make an arrest you may be entitled to a little money. Worth checking in to anyway, couldn't hurt.

You guys that aren't from AZ don't know the half of it. This guy had a wife and 2 children, and the "perfect" family, until one night he shot his wife in the head, and slit his children's throats, and then rigged the house to blow up in the morning. He left a new 4Runner in the driveway, and took the family dog and his other truck and made for the mountains where he hunted all the time. They found his truck and his dog, and chased him around up there, but then lost him again. He still hasn't been caught.

How long ago did you see him? I hope they nail the b*****d. I can't beleive he's still running around up there. I bet they had lots of questions for you! Keep your eyes peeled. That would be awesome to be able to help find him!!!

Thanks Sandhopper. What is puzzlin me though that they have not released the news to the public yet. I know one thing though is that if I didn't know he was here I would want to know. Also, he is not "up there" no more. He is now down here. If you look on a map you will see Safford is about 3 hours southeast of Phoenix.

Oooohhhhh. You would think that after living here my whole life, I would know where Safford is! Sorry 'bout that!

Yes, that's scary. They probably don't publicize the results of their progress too much in case he is watching the news, or has a radio or something. They probably don't want anything to go public that would aide him in any way. At least that would be my guess.

Just be careful out there!

Thanks for the support. Well anyway, now that my family knows that he is in my area we are going to pack up, lock up and go stay in Tucson with my older brother. He got a good look at my face so the cops told me to be careful. They don't want him to be coming after me and neither do I. So we are going to stay up there until we get word that he left town. Well, so I'm going to take my Recon out to Tucson to do some riding there. Well, I just pray for the safety of this town.

Where is this "local riding area" where you saw him? Was it near "Box Canyon"?

Nah,

I guess I'm afraid it is no where near that place. It is southern AZ, about an hour east of Tucson.
