I am looking at trading in my 1986 TRX 250R for a 2001 400ex! What do you guys think the trade in value is? I know if I sell it outright I will get a lot more. I am located in Massachusetts if that makes a difference. It has the following.

1986 TRX250R, works triple rate fronts with reservoirsand covers, K&N filter with outerwear, pro-tapers, DG alloy nerfs, Bandit fronts and rears, FMF fatty pipe and silencer, durablue axle carrier, ceet graphics with seat cover. Runs great.

Any help would be great.

Why in the world would anyone want to trade a 250R in on a 400EX????

Anyway, I have seen bikes similar to yours sell for between $2500 and $4000 depending on how good they look. I saw an 88 in decent shape sell for $4500 at my local dealer. It was on consignment for two days before it sold. The dealer told me he could have sold ten of them if he had them based on how many people came in to see it.

When I get a new MX bike every year my dealer lets me sell my old bike on consignment without charging me anything at their shop as long as I buy my new one there. That way I usually do a lot better.

They will probably insult you with what they offer you on a trade.
