My friend might go offer a guy money that has a Honda 250 4-wheeler that has shaft drive. It's sitting in his garage and he has never used it. (Doesn't matter what condition the engine is in)

I was just wondering, did Honda make a quad like this??, I've never heard of an old 250 shaft drive ATV. Anyone ever seen one or heard of one??

Yep they did. I think it was made from either 85-88 or 85-87. It is the same engine as the atc250sx engine I believe or some 250 4 stroke 3 wheeler, and the same engine as the TRX 300 except the 300 has a bigger bore.

If your friend can get the quad for a pretty reasonable price it is definitely worth the money. One of my friends has one and its been put through it. As far as I know the only thing to go wrong with it was the starter, on normal bearings and bushings. The thing was rode almost every day for 5 years or more. It was once rolled over a pretty steep long hill, it tore the back racks off and busted the plastic up pretty good, but when they got it out it started up and he rode it on home. Those motors could give the TRX 300 motors a good run.

i own one. its been a great 4 wheeler. its really built strong. ive flipped it a lot and havent done more then bend the racks. ive had two so far and the one i own now runs different from others ive seen. its a lot more responsive. the engines a 246 cc and mine will smoke the older 300's and runs even if not just a little bit faster than my friends 2000 300. all in all its a great four wheeler. i just wish i could get mine back. the CDI box went out on it and ive been looking for one for months and still cant find a working used one and i cant get 300 dollars for a brand new one.
