I believe this to be a bad idea...

you want a semi rough intake port, helps mix fuel air, you want an extremely smooth exhaust port..

at least from what I've read and seen..

I have to go the other way on this one, I think a good smooth intake will allow slightly better airflow, Being that the fuel\air goes through the crankcase it would churn and mix it there.

I might be wrong..

I know when I got my cylinders back from Trinity with the ProMX port.. the intake was kinda rough, the exhaust was silky smooth..

Again, I am NOT sure, I could be wrong on the best performance..

BansheeBrad is right. You should NEVER polish the intake side of anything. The roughness will help atomize fuel and also will actually increase the turbulence and velocity of the mixture. You will lose power if you polish it. However, having the exhaust mirror like, will increase power. The largest problem on a banshee is their poor port design. If you want more low-end, mid-range, and top-end, have a competent shop port it. I would recommend FTZ in Cape Girardeau, MO. A good port job will increase power all the way through.

I am getting my Banshee engine totally redone by K&T Performance in Roy, UT. They are known to have some of the fastest sand 'shee's around. The owner was showing me a stock ported cylinder and one that they had done. The difference was amazing! All of the surfaces come out pretty smooth after they get done porting (which he says takes them 8 hours), so he says they go back in and put this special texture on it that feels like very rough brushed aluminum to help atomize the fuel/air mixture better. These guys do every trick to get more power so I'm sure the rough surface is a necessity. I can't wait to get this machine back, they are porting my cylinders, porting my pistons, porting my crankcase. Welding and truing my crankshaft, advancing my timing, putting on cool heads putting in shift mods and new clutch with heavier springs. This machine was a kick in the pants to ride with just my Toomey T5's and stock engine so I can only imagine the power to be had from a built engine. From here he says for more power it's alchy or race gas and bigger carbs. I can't wait! I know these guys do biz through the mail for people as well so if you want a great port job etc. I can hook you up with a Phone#

how much does that cost for the K&T porting?

i wont touch the intake but i will clean up the exhaust.

it has t5s, and other small stuff right now, i am getting timing adv. and milling the head and getting smaller base gaskets soon.
