hey, didyou guys know that in 2002 the 300ex is gonna have yellow plastic?!?!?!?! I think it's great, even though it looks a little funny,,,,,,, you can see it at-- http://dirtwheelsmag.com/detail.asp?id=90 type that in and chech it out...........and i'm a little scared guys, at that address, is shows the 250ex with the same plastic as teh 300ex, do you all know anything about that, or did they just mess up and put hte 300 on there twice??

Looks like they just screwed up. That's a 300ex where there's supposed to be a 250ex.
As for the yellow. YUCK!!!!!!!!!
It looked OK on the 400ex, but the 300ex in yellow? YUCK.

 

Thats exactly what I'm saying. It looked good on the 400ex, but the 300ex...nope, not quite. The 250ex in yellow looks better than the 300ex. I wish they would give the 300ex a whole new look. Considering they have the same plastic since the 250x. When was that? 86' or 87'? Anyone know if you can put 400ex plastic on a 300ex?

 

for the 400ex plastic, yes you can, there was a 300ex on ebay a while back with 400ex plastic. the 300 is nasty in yellow, but people will buy it to be different. it might not look too bad with a all black front and yellow rear. my 2002 400ex just came in yesterday, and as soon as i sell my trailblazer, i will go get it. i think that makes me the first one with a 2002 on the fourms!

 

Sorry RideRed04. I have the first 2002 Yellow 400 EX. I got mine two days ago. I had originally ordered the yellow 300 EX but I changed to a 400 cause I got my tax return and had enough with the help of my parents to upgrade to a 400. As for the 300 in yellow I agree it may be uglier than the Cannondale 400. The 250 looks good because it has similar plastic to the 400 EX. But the ugliest mo fo is the fourtrax 90 in yellow. That thing should never even get near any show room floor. Honda may be gettin a little to color happy cause now they even have the Rubicon in yellow. If Suzuki makes a High Performance machine thay have to a new color cause I think thay have yellow. Anyway, I just trying to break my 2002 400EX in so I can go see what it can do.

the 250x started in 87, i think the plastic is fine even thoug it is old, but the yellow is just ugly,, anyway, i've been told that the 400ex plastic bolts right up to the 300ex, i'm thinkin of running the maier 400ex racin plastic on mine..

400ex plastic doesn't just bolt up!!! i bought brand new yellow 400ex plastic for my 250X and i'm having a buddy do some customizing cause it doesn't fit. he said he can do it and it'll look ok. i'll see if i can send pics when he gets it done

The yellow looks good on the 300. Especially with the black center front. It's time for something other than red.

 

I think it looks pretty crappy. There is just something about the 300ex plastic that doesn't agree with yellow. The all Red 300ex's look the best. I have a 97 and have thought about either putting 400ex plastic or replace the black plastic on mine with red. yellow rear fender and the rest black wouln't look to bad. I can't really picture it without seeing it.
