Hey fella's...

I'm wondering- why would someone want to change their stock front bumper with a "RACE BUMBPER". Is it just a weight thing? or is there a real benifit?

Thanks

I think the stock bumper is actually lighter than the Graydon bumper I installed a while ago, although the Graydon is probably a lot stronger. I suppose there is a benefit if you race since most aftermarket bumpers are wider, but I--like most others--replace the front bumper mainly for looks. I also like my Graydon cause it has two hand-holds instead of the one on the stock unit--makes lifting the front end a lot easier.

Exactly what NVR2L8 said. I would also like to add that a wider bumper will add some protection to the a-arms in the event of hitting a tree or a similar object.

The stock bumpers on the 300 and 400ex's are just to small. Mine is one of those extreme ones out of rocky mountain atv. It has a white brothers sticker on it so white brothers must own extreme or something. Its just like a AC except the outside bars curve back in a little more. I think mine looks better than an AC. It was a whole lot cheaper. If didn't have my bumper I would have already broke my plastic, cuz the stock bumper was below the plastic, this ones above, I hit a 200sx muffler pretty hard.

Primary reason: looks different.

Other reasons: More protection, small weight savings, oh and it looks different.

I went with the PRM bumper. It protects your fenders and gives you something to grab to easily lift and balance it. Its alot better in my opinion due to its width. Its a good push bar if anything. Check it out at exriders.com.
