That depends: If you want to be the lead dog-----Raptor. If you want to stay on the porch---440ex

I have never ridden in MX and really have no interest. However I must say that the power is apples and oranges. Remember displacement is everything. No matter what you do to the 400EX the same mods on the Raptor will make it faster. I've seen the liquid cooled 500EX stuff from FST in dirtwheels but that is still 160cc under the Raptor and it's already liquid cooled. Heck CT's website and ATVsport both show just a pipe and airbox mods taking the raptor up to almost 50HP. It's alot of work to get a 400EX up there. The Raptor handles very well, a steering stabilizer will help out alot. If it feels like it's geared too high the 12 tooth front sprocket will take care of it for a whopping $12. Really unless cost is the deciding criteria I cant see buying the 400EX over a Raptor. However if Honda had equipped the 400EX with reverse I might just be riding one of those now and cursing Yamaha for not bringing out the Raptor at the same time. Heck just buy something and RIDE IT!
