Hello,

Currently ride an ATC 250R, not modded, but still fast.
Thinking about buying an 88' TRX 250R, was just wondering what my chances are against a modded banshee. The TRX I'm looking at is semi-modded, (pipe, reeds).
I'm not really partial to Honda's, but it seems to me that Honda got it right back in the late 80's with this bullet-proof powerhouse motor. Anybody know any downsides to getting this model 4 wheeler?

Thanks.

Your ATC 250R is faster than the same motor... with more weight. (the quad)

Neither will stand a chance against a stock banshee, let alone a modded one.
(unless a 100lb woman is on the 250R, and a 200lb guy is on the stock Banshee,
then it would be close)

race the shee on an mx track and you'll kill it on the r. they are pretty touchy quads though.

an R with a pipe and reeds will probably beat a stock banshee. the 250R vs. Banshee thing really depends on mods. A fully modded banshee will beat a fully modded 250R..but take a 250R with some porting, a pipe, and bolt ons, and it will usually take a banshee with pipes and no porting etc.

a 250R is a better mx style quad (handles better, more tractable power) and the banshee is better in the dunes and wide open stuff.

Keep the ATC. My 86 ATC250R all stock is just as quick as my buddies 99 Banshee with pipes. Yeah the longer the hill the better chance he has, but one bike length on Oldsmobile hill at Glammis isn't going to make me buy a new bike. Check out the action below.
