Sniff, sniff, everyone is buying faster quads than mine, so mine must suk. The raptors and DS's are outrunning me on those open stretches and I look like a looser! Ohh the pain! Oh the humiliation! Why did I buy such a dog of a fourwheeler! Polaris suks for taking advantage of me and my ignorance! They should have to make it up to me somehow! Wahhh Wahhhh! I'v sunk a few hundred $$ in my $4000 4x4 quad that only goes about 75 or 80 mph only to have lighter and more race ready quads outrun me! Why couldn't Polaris have come out with a 120 mph 4x4 when I bought mine?! They should have to reimburse me for my sorrows. Sniff, sniff. But wait, didn't I just have to wait on some of those guys to get through that big mudhole? Sniff. Didn't one of them have to bail on that hillclimb after I made it with no problem? And wasn't I right on their tail through that entire tight woods section, not to mention the trouble I gave them on that MX track. Maybe all this grief I feel about my quad is because I listen too much to what everyone else thinks and look and dwell too much on what everyone has and is buying. I should just be happy with what has been a good quad to me and not worry about the Jones's so much. Afterall, they aren't all that better off than me. If only eveyone else could do the same.

Yep, that does sum it up. I found out my wife ws going to have a baby while I was in the market for an ATV. At the time I wanted the best. I was looking at the SP500, Kodiak, 400EX, Warrior, ect. But I had to save my money for the baby, so I bought a lowly Trail Blazer. But what did I find? I found that I can go just about anywhere everyone else does, and I still have a blast doing it.

The 400 EX speed difference doesn't seem as great when he's waiting for the tow rope out in the mud pit, or wondering just how much mud he's going to splashed and / or roosted on him while he's marooned. Of course, having too get off the quad and PUSH instead of using reverse cuts into that speed difference too. But, if you kill the engine and the battery's dead, hoping that you can push start the pig would surely dampen the enthuisiasm of the 400 EX rider...
Just remember, the Trailblazer WILL BEAT A DS 650 in a race !!!!
If you race in REVERSE...

Rick,
I don't know what got into me really. I just got to thinking about all the people I run across who, whether it be cars, bikes, boats, or atv's, always seem to be happy with their ride until someone comes along with something alittle nicer or faster. Speed is a great thing, if you are capable of using it (in my opinion). I know so many people who don't even utilize what they've got before wanting to run out and strap themselves (finacially)over the latest greatest thing. For example, I've got a friend who recently bought a CBR600 and has never owned a bike in his life, and gets scared when he hits 100mph. He has had it for a month or so and is already making plans for a GSXR1000. It's almost suicidal. I see it, as I'm sure you do too, with just about every ATVer I know as well. I just think it's funny to see someone unhappy with what they've got because it doesn't do what someone elses will do, although they will probably never have the ***** to take it to that level themselves. My logic is, take what you have to the limits before deciding you have to have something else. It may just be that what you have is capable of surpassing most of the others simply because alot of the people who own them aren't capable of utilizing the full capacity of their machine.

A-MEN!!! I see these guys buying 400EX's, Raptors and DS650's and having to dump a ton of money into them to overcome their weaknesses. There is no perfect bike. They all have their quirks. This is why I've chosen to take my '98 Sport to the limit. I liked the Sport when I bought it and even more so now. It's amazing how these guys buy a machine and start modifying them when they can't even change a spark plug on their own. Then you hear how Polaris sucks because they've screwed the bike all up. Jeff Gordon doesn't hire any guy off the street to be his head mechanic. Get to know your bikes thoroughly and learn to maintain them. You'll be much happier with your riding experience. Remember these are fine tuned machines and must be treated likewise. Maintenance is the key guys. You're asking an aweful lot out of your machines.
