If a Raptor's tranny grinds in the woods....

Does yamaha care?
My Raptor (2001) is started finding false nutrals, and grinding when i press it down into 1st gear. I know what this means, another person to get pissed at yamaha's tranny. Luckuly i am still under warrinty (sadly the tranny should last longer than the warrinty) What i need to know is, When they replace the gears, ect, will the quad not break again due to new style gears, or whatever to prevent the problem again?

Your tranny might be ok yet. Adjust your shifter and your clutch and reverse **** cables. Realy makes a difference how the shift if there not adjusted right. If your trans is bad it wont last long. Got any pics of your yellow raptor? i would like to see some. thanks

What's your VIN number? or serial number? There's been a lot of talk on here about quads over #6,000 having the new gears. Our 2001 Raptor is in the 20,000's. The more we know, the better we feel.
What's it going to take to upgrade a not broken tranny to 2002 specs?? Parts? plus labor? I could do it with a shop manual and probably a couple of special tools...or not.
