I have a 99 and a 00 Trailblazer.I have not noticed any
problems with them bogging at full throttle. Is your pre-
filter and air filter clean? About the grinding noise.
Are you letting the engine RPMs whined down before you
shift into gear?

Talonhawk is right you have to wait for your engine to go down to low RPM'S before you can put it into gear.
