It's a pretty big jump from his Power Wheels Kawasaki, but this kid is ready for gasoline power. I can get one brand new for $1900 out the door. I want to skip the 50cc model and let him grow into this.

How are they holding up? Any problems? I also liked the AEON Cobra 100 and Husky's Pit Viper 90, and Kasea's 150 Skyhawk, but can't find a dealer. Resale value has to be better with the Polaris badge, even though these are made by E-Ton. Nothing in this class seems to have reverse, too bad, he uses reverse a lot on his Power wheels. He just turned 4, but is big for his age, 45 lbs. Dealer said he has to be 12. That's convenient, 'cause my 12 year old needs to have his Raptor 660 serviced and we'll do it on the same trip. I've had our Scram 90 for about 3 months, no problems to date. I have 3 daughters 12,9, and a 6 year old. They all drive it and love it. It's pretty fast for a 90cc atv, but thats why the girls like it. Problem is my 12 year old is already too big for it. Full speed where ever she goes. It fits my 9 year old like a glove, and she isn't very big. My 6 year old, well she has a very heavy thumb, couple scary moments, but she's learning. I paid $1900 otd too, and think I got the best bike for the money.

I bought an Alpha Sports 50 for $1600 For my 8 year old daugther and it's a good machine,no problems yet and I'v had it for about 3 months. When I bought it I was also looking at the Polaris Scrambler 50.The Polaris 50 and 90 are made by Aeon also, same machine different plastic and the Alpha Sport has headlights but not on the Polaris, just decals.I asked the Polaris dealer who made them 'cause I could tell they were the same as Aeon, but He said he did'nt know.I do'nt known if he really did'nt know or if he was just acting stupid.I bought mine from a Kawsaki-Yamaha dealer and they said if I need parts for it I can get them in the same amount of time it takes to get other ATV parts. P.s. With the Polaris you do get a kid's helmet,a whip flag and a training video.

Thanks for the info GE4x4. How is the suspension? I know there's damn little, But it is rough out here, and there are a few of these minis coming out that actually have some suspension. I found a Kasea 150 Skyhawk with 7" travel in the front with real dual A-arms, but it has a manual clutch and 5-speed, a little too serious, and heavy for this go round. The Husky's suspension is a little better than average, which is pretty bad, but it is still a one a-arm affair with bump steer being the name of the game.
We checked out the Pandas today, and it was a good test of size.
He latched right on to the 125 and drove it about 10 feet before I hit the kill switch when I saw the sales guy coming after us! They'll be no 50's. He's ready to rock.

There's the "PiT Viper" made in Tennessee by IPC. They also make the Husky 50, the self-proclaimed leader in pee-wee MX. It has 7" travel in front and 6" in back with cast aluminum a-arms and swingarm. It has a Big Gun Exhaust, Fox rebuildable "racing shocks" and Magura child levers. 4-stroke 90cc with 4-speed autoclutch, electric start, only weighs 210 lbs. Looks as good as the Raptorette, and it's red.

The bad news is I can't find one, can't find a dealer closer than Oklahoma or California and I have no idea what they cost.

The Polaris is right down the road, $1900, it could be here tomorrow, with 2" of suspension travel, auto, 90cc two stroke, electric start.
And it would trade in or sell easily in three years when he's ready for a TrailBoss or a 250EX.

The suspension on it is very good for only 2" of travel. My brother had a LT 80, and he said the suspension was alot better then his. But if you really think about it, you can have alot of travel, but with only 3.5" of ground clearance you can't go on to many ruff trails. As for the Viper don't know much about it, but I tried a Husky and was very disappointed. It took a whole width of a road to turn it around. In fact the dealer tried to grind the steering post to make it steer sharper, but not enough for me. Then I had a hard time getting it out of 1st gear, never mind my daughter doing it. And it had to be the uggglies atv I've seen. And they wanted $2000 for a 50cc atv. Never mind the 1 1/2 hrs to get there, when I have 3 Polaris dealers within 50 min. But for the money I don't think you will be disappointed with the Sram. 90

The latest addition to the family is...a..SCRAMBLER 90 !!
It's official, it is in the garage! I found a out a bunch about the Pit Viper,$2495(not out till September), and Kasea Skyhawk,$2795, which are both really cool, not available around here, and a bunch more money. The beautiful, Red Scrambler 90 was Out the Door for $1,895. Bang for the Buck, this thing rocks. I also found out that Aeon makes these, as well as a bunch of the other ones. That Showa makes a better shock, which comes on the "Sport Blazer" 50 & 90.

This is a screamin' little machine, starts easily, and SCARED the HELL out of my WIFE and MOM already, when the little guy buzzed their evening patio cocktail hour. "IT'S GOING BACK!" was heard repeatedly for about an hour or so. But riding lessons continued.
My 12 year old is sitting on the back most of the time, supervising the young lad, age 4, and he is soloing some, under close supervision, this thing goes pretty fast.
The parental throttle control would work better with a auto-clutch/4-speed. The CVT needs enough throttle to get started that once it gets going, it goes ahead and upshifts and gets going pretty fast.

The evening reminded me very much of the evening I first brought my DS-650 home, and was riding it without realizing first was down, drag starting in second gear each time. Duh, the rush.

But, and here I go again, I think some wheel spacers are in order. There is no reason not to widen this thing up and get it to slide better. It is a bit tippy. Durablue graph-lite wheel spacers or aluminum. 1&1/2 in front and 2&1/2 in back. The added stability would really help, there is no reason to keep this thing this narrow at only 33" wide. Too bad I can't stick the old Raptor axle in it!!

Oh crap, it's going back. It is too fast. The CVT tranny just gets this thing going way to fast. An auto-clutch set up is what's needed. Something he can putt along with. It and the young lad, are both fine, not a scratch on either, but, this was not the idea, and I am in deep do-do with wifey. The Raptorette or Pit Viper, both 4-strokes with auto-clutch, both as yet unreleased. I told the boy this morning, he understands, and is dissapointed as would be expected. The Honda 90 doesn't have electric start, but could work. Now I have to get what I can from the dealer, who handles Yamaha and Honda, but has neither.

Even with the throttle limiter in its factory preset?? They come through at 15 MPH. My sons Sportsman 90 tops out at 30 - 35 MPH wide open. They do "scream" though. Sound like someones riding a chainsaw around the yard.

The mechanic at the dealer first set the throtte which led to the first and only real biff. We then turned the throttle limiter screw down to where the quad wouldn't even move, then turned it out so it would just take off,, and that was too much.
I took it back today, tags still on it, untransferred M.S.O., Dealer told me he'll get me what I had paid for it, toward a 2002 Honda 90 Sporttrax, with a 4-speed that we can leave in first gear and take off the shift lever. Now THAT he can grow with. It won't be here for a couple of weeks, it is going to be a rough couple of weeks for Dad "the repo man".
