I am a Die Hard 2-Stroke fan but have been considering the 400EX. I knw they aren't that fast because my uncles 250R three-wheeler is alot faster. Anyway, I have never ridden either machine and want to know which is better for:
1. MX racing
2. Dunes
3. XC racing
4. Play riding

These are the maint types of places I ride. Also, don't include anything about how good a rider is or how hard it is to adapt to a 2 or 4 stroke becasue I have owned and ridden both. Also, I have ridden an LT250R and Banshee and didn't like the Banshee but the LT is pretty sweet, even though frames crakced alot. So, how are they compared to these quads? Will the 400 keep up with the LT on trails?

This is just my opinion.....If you are a skilled rider, the 250R is better for everything but play riding. To get decent power out of a 400ex, you have to totally mod it out, then it becomes kind of a time bomb. A stock 250r has enough power to do most things, put on a pipe and a few other minor mods and you are on a fairly fast quad. I think you would also have to look at the fact that if you buy a 250r, most of them are already beaten to death.

This is my opinion 2 the 250r is a great quad but the 400ex is so updated and the 250r's are 12-15 years old so they arent as updated. but dont get me wrong i have a 400ex and had a lt250 i like the power of them but they dont fell a nice and and put 2 gether as the 400ex but that is just my opinion
