power trip !

i want to bore out my 250X .80 over and put in a mild cam . will i need the stronger valve springs w titanium valves and hardface rockers , if i run it without those parts will it break ? and also will this decrease reliablility? and what piston should i go with i heard wiseco seazes really easy ? i was thinkig about a niks Please help !!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure if you would need the hardfaced rockers, stronger valve springs, and all that are necessary with a mild cam. It should certainly increase reliability compared to without I'd think, but I don't know if you'd need it. That probably depends on the cam you decide to get.

Also, if you plan on boring .80 over, I would get a higher compression piston. You have probably already thought about this anyway. Wiseco seems to be a good piston, just as JE, Niks, and the other known brands are. Hope I helped. Good luck.

i think my piston is allready 12 to 1 how much higher can i go without running race gas

To be honest, im not positive that there is a piston for the 250X higher than 12:1. If i were you i would contact TC Racing, or Curtis Sparks. They would be glad to help you with this question im sure.

I think 12 to 1 is about as high as you can buy them.

i saw a 250x bored to a 410 with a 14 to 1!!!! http://www.off-road.com/atv/250XRS.htm
correction 14.75 to 1 that is one rip $h!t 250X

Yeah but 14 to 1 isn't going to be all that reliable, and you would have to run a really high race gas or octane booster which would cost some $$.
