Street Legal?
#1
I have seen articles about street legal conversions for atvs, but I don't have the back issues of the atv mags to find a web site I can look them up. I just moved and only live about 5 min. from work. I thought I would set the wife's (?) Trail Boss up for the street. I would have to buy new wheels and tires. But other than a bracket for the plate I can not think of much else. The Trail Boss has a running light in the rear,a brake light, and high and low beam head lights. I believe I don't need turn signals, I have seen many a Harley rider using his hands for direction signals.
Help me. I want to ride to work.
What a way to start the day.

There is a guy in Portland that makes conversion kits. I don't remember the site but go to a search engine and type in Mike Tryke or something like that and it should bring his page up to you.

Depending on the Laws in your area, you may be able to treat the quad as a "farm vehicle" and place an orange triangle on the rear.... you could check with your State Patrol, (in some OTHER nearby town)...
License plate, turn signals, horn, headlight, brake lights, fenders, speedometer, and guts.
Mike may GIVE you the info that your looking for. He can be reached at: http://www.ftconnect.com/~mtryke/ Oh course, he does SELL conversion kits for about $2,000 and LESS. Check with him, he'll help you out.
