i just got a modded 400 (wb cam, shaved, flowed head and 5 angle vavle job, pro design filter, jetted, laegers a arms) and already have a stock 400 with just k&n jet kit and filter.

now here is my dilemma.. i need to sell one!! the one without the cam has way more bottom end and wheelies great and the other one hits like a 2 stroke and the wheelies are nearly impossible to ride. i know this is a given between the 2 machines but i thought the difference would be less noticable!! here is my question can i gear the modded one to be a wheelie monster or am i stuck with a fast quad without low end grunt? another question to those with cams.... are you glad you did this or do you miss the low end too? it seems i have the best of both worlds but i want to be in between!!

The low end that is lost (amount depending on the cam) is easily replaced, and then some, with a high compression piston.

Thus, whichever of your 400's doesnt have low end, drop a stock or over-bore high-comp piston in it, and you will have "the best of both worlds..."

...like I do.

if i get a higher compression piston will i have to go with an octane booster or will good pump gas do the job?

my stock ex will come up instantly when you hit the gas but the modded one will come up when reved to the moon but when you get it up it is really sensitive to throttle (either too much or not enough..)... you think a piston will cure this??
thanks
