I just put a deposit on a new 2002 400ex. what are the best mods to do to this machine with performance in mind(without going hogwild with money!).Can I leave it stock? I plan on using it for trail riding and play racing. Thanx

 

ride it stock until warranty runs out and if you want more you can get and edelbrock carb , k+n airfilter , and a pipe . that will give it alot more without motor mods

 

If you want to do some motorwork, then get a 426 or 440 kit, I hear that they are good. JUST WHAT I'VE BEEN TOLD!!!
