When you guys talk about modifying your airbox what do you mean and how do you do it. Any pictures are good to.

You can install 1 inch UNI Filters in the top or lid of the stock air box to help more air to flow. Or you can replace the air box with one from PPD Racing it has no top but moves the battery into it. Diamond Racing is coming out with one that has a top.

As long as you stay a way from water you are ok. You will have to richen up the carb a little.

CALDS650 ~
I looked on ppd's website and didn't see anything for the DS. Am I missing something?

I started out with a pingry airbox before I got the k&n that bolts right on the carb.
It is still nice to keep all of the electronics inside the box.
I ride this bike strictly in the sand.
HAPPY TRAILS.

BIGDADDY650 I was thinking of the same thing with one mod replace the air filter in the PPD box with an oil tank and get rid of the steel one up front. I also due 98% of my riding in the sand with the K&N on the carb and the oil tank moved back and lower it would be nice

i agree moving the oil tank, that has crossed my mind several times, i wish someone made a tank that would fit in the air box area, i wonder if the stock tank could be used hmmmm..., i'll check when i get home.
