Gas Golf cart + snowmobile engine = ?
#1
Hey, I went camping this weekend and the people i went with had a gas powered golf cart. I lifted up the seat to find the engine was set up identical to my snomobiles. Belt driven with a centrifical clutch, and with the belt running directly to the rear axel. I was thinking with my 440 2 stroke engine underneath a golf cart, it would fly. Anyone ever seen one or ever thought the same thing. Help me think of more ideas. Derek

Yea no kidding, i bet they wouldnt mind at all. This place we were camping at was like a "golf cart comunity" Once you entered the campgrounds you parked and got in your golf cart and went to the trailer (I however slept in a tent) But since there were so many golf carts it started giving me some ideas. One golf cart had a 4" lift on it. Just about all of them had some nicetires with good grip. and all of them had the seat in the back to allow two more passengers.
We went cruising through some of the trails (yes, trails for a golf cart, isnt it amazing) and the golf cart actually did alright.
I was thinking If i could find some just gas golf cart without a working engine, id buy it for cheap, put the lift on it (i saw how they did it) and then drop my engine in it. Sounds like a good project, any one else have any more ideas.

I have a zr500 in my ezgo marathon. Its got electric start but no reverse. I am running zrt800 front shocks on the rear and a 6 lift in the front. Its faster on the top end then my yfz. I widened it 4" and lengthened it 4" made it way more stable on top end. Mine is real tame you can dive it all around the yard but when it hits 8000 rpms it get real crazy. Takes alot of engineering just to warn you. I have had to make clutches, suspensions, radiator mounts, motor mounts that are adjustable, cut the exhaust ect.. Lost of time in that project but there is nothin like watching peoples faces as you go by.
