I was just reading around the manuel today and read about my mechanical rear brake (97 Scrambler 500) It never even worked before! I tightend the adjustment nut and then took it out for a spin out back. I had just finished watching Quatros Locos and wondered if I could do that 250r rear brake slide thing. And to my amazement I worked!!!!! I am so excited. I have a foot brake now!!!

Now to the point of the post. Is it ok to use this brake all the time? It seems to work alright?! I tightend it pretty good, It still rolls free and not restricted by overtightening. Any input on some thing I did wrong would be great.

Ryan,
Sounds like you did it right.. You can use that brake till you wear out the pads... You won't hurt a thing...
