Spark plug question

My dealer didn't have the proper DR8EA plugs for my XT the other day, but he did sell me D8EA pluga instead. Is it OK to run these? The R must designate a resistor, is that the little screw on/off thing that has to come off anyway to get the plug in the boot? Thanks in advance.
