mine was dang close to my 250x speed wise

depends on the rider.........in theroy NO......it can't.........but.......my 250sx is dang quick for a farm bike [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] ....make a big bear look slow

great wee bike,......nothing like flying down a gravel road.......fully pinned.......with a big trailer and fencing gear behind it.......to see the gate come up real quick......grab the brakes and shoot straight past....like the brakes never worked [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

that missing wheel makes the world of difference when it comes to stopping eh?

do you have carriers on yours?

 

My 250sx was clocked by radar at 49 mph with 20" studded tires on the ice. My guess is that it'll so 50-55 on pavement with 22" tires. I don't know how fast the other bikes are so you can gusee from here.

 

i heard that stock 250sx can hit 60 mph mine is a 87

 

Yeah, mine does 60....on a trailer....it's an 86.

 

Mine will do 56 on pavement and I ain't no lightweight

 

EricT, where did you find your 87 250sx? Just curious because as far as I know the 87 atc's were only sold in Canada.

 

when i was young a guy my dad worked with sold it to him for 600 because he and his girlfriend had a wreck on it. it was new besides a little dent in the fuel tank

 

the '87 350x & 250r were canada only. the rest of the lineup was available everywhere. hey eric I just noticed we are in the same town. we should get together and go for a ride or compare trikes sometime.

 

i don't know who clocked you guys because my stock 1985 250sx does 65mph with 22inch tires. when my dad bought it in '85 it did 68mph. he drove it home from the dealership and my uncle clocked him. i used a radar gun last time. maybe mine was just a really good bike, not sure.
