Bombardier or Honda
#1
Had my heart set on a Honda Rancher 4x4. The salesman is trying to sell me on a slightly used Bombardier Traxter XT. Many more features but reliability and lastability are #1 for me. This is my first ATV. Need help deciding. Thanks.

How much of a price difference would the two be? If it isn't too much I would certainly go with the Traxter XT. If money was no object the Traxter XT would be my first choice for a utility quad. I know my DS feels better put together than my cousin's 400ex did new. I'm not knocking Honda. I have an '84 and an '86 honda utility quad and they still run great, but if the Traxters are put together as good as a DS, I don't think you will be giving up anything in reliability. Rotax engines are also proven, just like Honda's. The Traxter is also bigger than the Rancher, so that could also lean you one way or the other. Hope this helps you out. Later

I can get the Bomber for the same price out the door as the Rancher. Why Yamaha? Every dealer I go to will discount all of their other brands but not the Hondas. There must be something to that. Are the Hondas more popular based on their reputation rather than their merrit?

Welcome to ATV'ing.
Honda ATV's have ALWAYS been the benchmark for reliability.
However, in their short lifetime, Bombardier does seem to make solid ATVs...question is, do they last?
Tough choice. But I am certain you wont be disappointed with the Honda.
