Must have been your connection. I am on a 56k modem, aol line and mine went pretty fast. Since its raining out and I can't ride I think I will go over to europe and rev the motor again since i can't do it here.

Typical Yamaha CRAP! When you see the Raptor coming down the road in the intro, you are hearing a Banshee. After it stops and revs up they change it over to a Raptor. Rev up the motor huh? There's no way there little mouse-over rev is a Raptor. That's a multiple cylinder engine for sure! It's a little deceiving I think. In order to really hear the Raptor, you have to go to the sound page.

bash i agree...all the raptors i have heard in real life sound nothing like that. it does kinda sound like a mulitple cylender..it seems a little too high pitched to be a 660 single...hmm

Interesting side note... they actaully list a torque spec on that page. 5.1 m-kg @ 5500 rpm. First time I've seen yamaha actaully list any spec for the raptor.
For us on the english system thats 36.88 ft/lbs @ 5500 rpm
And that turns out to be 38.6 horse @ 5500 RPM..
just an interesting side note..

Mine came with a title... no specs on it.. <shrugz>
I'm not suprised by the higher horse number, 5500 is low in the raptors power ban from what I've seen... so 43.8 horse is prolly about right..
I'm not suprised the torque starts to fall after 5500 rpm, pretty typical of a 4 stroke gas piston engine..
