Throwaway parts make Raptor ATV trailer.?
#1
I'm talking about a tiny ATV trailer made from discarded parts like Raptor axle and swingarm, stock rear shock, Grizzly tires and wheels.
The stuff nobody wants, even though its' replacement cost would be very high, this trailer would be made from sophisticated modern components that were quickly made obsolete by superior aftermarket replacement products. Imagine a little dump-box trailer sitting on a Raptor's swing arm and rear end assembly, hooked up with a simple trailer hitch to the back of the Grizzly. The whole trailer would weigh maybe 50 lbs with a fiberglass or aluminum tub. And you could pull it fast and anywhere the Grizz would go.
So I need hubs to fit the Grizzly wheels, swingarm with carrier,
shock with spring, a light tube frame using Raptor swing arm pivot and shock dimensions, a tilt bed and hitch. This sounds like a fun project. Anybody got any throwaway parts cluttering up their garage they'll sell me cheap?????Especially the Raptor swing arm and shock assembly??

Fourlix,
Hey your the first one I will call when my 660r bites the dust. Which going by all the posts could be alot sooner than later. Now wait a minute I just thought of something!!!! I will keep My 660r and make a park bench out of it to sit on top of our hill to view the scenery. Sorry about that, but if I can't make that work I will call.

I have to get a digital cam one of these days.....
I built a yard/utility trailer with a left over swing arm from my banshee...stock axel...even the stock front shocks off the banshee....The tub, I bought from sears as a replacement for their craftsman plastic dump cart. (~$60)
It is sitting up on blocks in my barn right now....I'm in need of rims/hubs and tires. I figure I will finish using the tires that are on the banshee now...and put them on the trailer when they are shot.
It's not the lightest contraption I have come up with...But should work fine around the yard or getting wood from the trails.
The only problem is that it sits up in the air kind of high...meaning it will sit at a pretty good angle if I use it with the lawn tractor. I'm working on an attachment for the hitch.
I chose to use one of the front banshee shocks as a rear shock. Though the angle is a bit off...it works.
It's funny to see a Utility trailer with suspension.
I'll get pictures soon.
