I was the one that posted the topic "killer deal"?...and I want to thank everyone for their input. Today I did it!!!!! Just got a brand new black 2001 DS650 (I even got the new black seat)! I think I negotiated a pretty good deal (for southern Calif, anyway). I originally wanted a Raptor, but couln't get as good a deal.....and the DS appears to be extremely well made. All I can say is that I am pumped, and can't wait to ride it!!! Also I must decide whether to sell my '96 Sport 400, or my wife's bone stock "97 Trailblazer.
Anyway gotta go check it out some more....Later!

Congratulations on your new DS!I think in the long run you will be very happy with your decision. You should pick up a new aftermarket chain roller because that is a weak link, and read the owners manual to set the rear suspension up for your weight.I see you are from southern California where do you and your wife usually ride?

Is the black on your DS like a dual black or shinning black, Like a Raptor. Does anyone have any picks???

Hey Hall650....The black color on my DS is a real shiney black....but just like a black car, it will show every little mark, so I am sure it will not be easy to care for.

Hey 1bearman, thanks for the congrats, I am really pumped up about this bike, as I have never bought a new one for myself. I will definitely look into the chain roller issue. Also, I really prefer to go to Glamis when vacation days permit, otherwise, the wife and I go to El Mirage....but I usually take the 2 wheeler there. Where do you usually go?? Let me know the next time you head out, maybe we can hook up.

My wife and I usually ride at Ocotillo wells near Glamis, but right now we are getting ready to go to the Utah Jamboree next month.Glamis gets a little to crazy for us and we really like to go for long rides
and find new areas. If you would like to hook up just let us know, always looking for riding partners.I have never ridden at El Mirage but sounds like fun.
