I just bought a new K&N filter for my Raptor, today!

I just stopped in my local Yammie shop today and was looking at all the K&N filters they had and looked down and noticed a box that said,"Raptor" Sure enough, it was for the Raptor, they only got 2 in and I got the 2nd one. They said the rest are on back order. It cost me $58.00. It comes with a gasket that goes between the airbox and filter. It has the adapter plate attached to the filter. It's not some aftermarket setup, it's the real thing. I'm pumped. I'm gonna put it on in a couple of hours. Obviously they're ready but it sounds like alot of them are gonna be on back order. I'll let you know how it does. It also says that you don't have to do anything to your engine to make it work(jets etc.) Later

Sounds like you lucked out! I called RockymountainATV last Saturday and they won't have any in until the middle of August. Then they told me that they have a waiting list of over 150. I've seen on e-bay the power kits but not the filters. One of these days I guess.

I tell you what though. The K&N was alot cheaper than the UNI and it lasts alot longer. Basically, as long as you own it. Alot easier to clean and maintain. All you have to do is put a Filter Skin or Outerwears on it and it's fine. I installed it tonight, it's just like the stock one, it stays in place by using the lid. I'm sure if you ran with the airbox lid off all you'd have to do is put two self-tapping screws in the top to hold it down. I didn't have much time to ride after I put it in. I'll let you all know when I get back from SandFest next weekend.

I am getting tired of people saying k&n DOESNT FILTER DUST OR DIRT.If cleaned, oiled, use an outerwear, and installed PROPERLY ,it works better then
any foam filter out there.I have never seen dust in the intake boots on any of my quads.Plus it lasts forever.the outerwaer alone catches more dirt than
a foam filter anyway. They would not be in buisness if it didnt work.I also ride in all conditions, dust, dirt, mud, water, sand, and snow.I also have had them on my trucks for years with no problems.

The UNI (part no. NU-3241 ST) that I purchased at my local shop was 26.20 with tax. That makes it a little cheaper than the K&N. As far as the K&N lasting longer I am not sure about that. Just sold my kdx 220 and had used a UNI on it for three and half years. I would switch between the stock and the UNI and the UNI held up better than the stock KDX filter. I would have to give a thumbs up to UNI if you can get one. Chet
