How can you tell If you have the old Pro design filter or new?
#1
I have a pro design fliter that i bought from a dude on EBAY. He says it was the newer one. I know the first ones had problems with the sealing around the flange. I saw a couple of pics recent of the newest design and it has small round inlets for the filter. My filter has one big oval with a clamp that goes around it. so whats the deal here? I know there were several versions of this filter at least 3. i belive i have the second version. Is ther any sure way to tell?

Sorry, but you got the old one. The problem is that it is very difficult to get a clamp to seal on an oval. It gets tight on the ends and then bows in the middle. That's probably why the guy was selling it. You also may have trouble getting replacement filters in the future since I assume they are not making that style any more.
As you described, the new filters look like a mushroom with two round legs. If you are stuck with the filter you might contact pro design and see if they will swap it for the new design.
Gook Luck,

old design, new design..if you call pro design he told me hed swap the old for the new for an additional 50$. way to stand behind your product. i got stuck with that old heap to. i refuse to give pro design any more of my money. i bought a new one from a dealer and had it reproduced on a cnc (some guys im my tool room did it, i really dont know much about the process) and then returned it.
