Link to 2002 models

In reading the specifications of the 2002 models it appears that the Magnum 500 now weighs 692 lbs compared with the 2001 model at 647 lbs. No this is not the RMK they have that one listed at 698 lbs. Not bad... bumpers front and rear, racks front and rear and only picks up 6 lbs over the regular 500 Magnum? Something does not equate here.

Also why would they reduce the gas tank from 3.7 gallons down to 3.2? Seems like a step in the wrong direction. I guess the marketing gurus want the Magnum to run out of gas before the Sportsman 500 models on the same trail ride. (clever?)

The Magnum 500 has always had a 3.2 gallon fuel tank. The wieght must be a misprint.

Last years specs say 3.7 gallon fuel tank. Even ATV Connection's 2000 Mag 500 review says 3.75.

When are Polaris and Arctic Cat going to get their act together? 700lbs is just WAY too much for a quad. It's no wonder we never see any polaris or A-C quads doing anything other than sedate trail riding.

THANK GOD they are adding more weight , I heard that speeds over 45mph cuased the magnums to lift off the ground and take off like a plane for a few seconds causeing the riders to crash , some people use it to there adjantage and pass other riders on fast trails!
