I have wanted to go to Sand Fest since I first heard about it. Now, with the creation of this new business, I have an even stronger reason to go. Money has been tight, but I just realized that I will be getting my tax refund next week. Would anyone in the southern Nevada or Arizona area be interested in sharing gas money/a ride up to Oregon? I've got a small, light trailer that can haul 4 quads and an extra cab pick-up[or maybe take the Excursion]. I will be tenting once up there unless someone has a trailer I can crash in[please?]. If anyone wants to go, or can help me once I get there, please let me know. Thanks

Knutz, You may want to make sure you can get a reservation somewhere. I understand you have to plan ahead to get a camping spot. Never been there though but hope to make it soon. Have fun.

Thanks WYO, does anyone know who I have to contact about this? I hope it's not too late to get a camping spot. I'm not used to reserving camping spots, it's usually camp were you stop around Dumont or Pismo. Any help would be appreciated.

Knutz try here http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/siuslaw/oregondunes/ Although I didn't check I wouldn't count on finding any vacancies. These places fill up pretty well during the summer especially if they have Dune access right out of the campground. I will look and see if I can find any other camping areas and let you know.

So, should I not plan on going since I can't get a camping spot? Is camping on the sand not allowed? I plan to sleep in the Excursion, and really don't need "facilities" such as power supply or running water. [a porta-john in the area would be nice though] I would prefer to leave my tuck and trailer set up as my "camp" and not re-load everything to drive to the sand each day. I'm leaving Wed. afternoon to head up there if I have a place to park and sleep. If anyone wants to hook up once I get there, send me a phone # and I'll see if I can call. I'm going up solo, I guess, since all of my buddies have to work. I wouldn't mind hooking up with people up there.

Between business issues and being unsure about were I could stay, I'm having to cancell my trip. Thanks to everyone that tryed to help. I'm sorry to all of you that were planning to check out the 760. I'm trying to set up a trip for Labor Day if anyone has any plans. Al is looking for a place to go as well, so if we can come up with a reasonable place, we could have ourselve a west coast DS gathering to rival the one in Michigan that some of you just did.
